  • Funeral Ghost Money Ritual (2017-2018)

    INSPIRATION

    The Buddhist concept of saṃsāra describes the cycle of life— life, death, afterlife, rebirth. In ancestral Chinese traditions, ghost money is burned as an offering to loved ones who have died and to take care of those the afterlife.

    Participants consider what message they want to share with others in this private or public DM to the afterlife.

ELIXIR AI is a series of performances centered on a fictitious AI tech startup Elixir AI that offers digital immortality through AI clones or digital replicas.

ELIXIR AI technology is based on deep machine learning and GANs (generative adversarial networks) to provide AI digital replicas of users based on their lifetime data. Rooted in a vision of the future of zero data waste and sustainable digital practices, ELIXIR maximizes the utility of the user digital estate and investigates the role that our digital identity has in our self-identity, memory, and grief.

This series includes one-on-one interactive experiences and multimedia, immersive “thought experiences” and performances.
